Jonathan Harber


Jonathan is an experienced executive leader in applications, infrastructure, security, and business operations characterized as a collaborative leader with a bias for action. He has specific, deep leadership experience in application development, technology and service outsourcing, cloud strategy and implementation, biotech manufacturing and medical devices, multi-hospital operations, and claim processing and automation.

Prior to WGroup, Jonathan was the Senior Director of Technical & Shared Services at DaVita Healthcare Partners. He was responsible for solving the CIO’s particularly complex IT problems in the movement from a federated, holding-company to a shared services model for a $13B healthcare company. This included mergers and acquisitions, Enterprise Information Management, shared services, and implemented best practice consolidation of 7 independent markets. He overhauled and updated the Healthcare Partners due diligence process for acquisition targets including artifacts and time management targets. He managed the implementation of all infrastructure and applications to convert regional data marts into an Enterprise Data Warehouse and Enterprise Information Management platform.

As CTO of Healthcare at Hewlett-Packard, Jonathan served as the strategic healthcare industry Subject Matter Expert (SME) and industry advisory executive to multiple Global Accounts and HP Business Unit Operations in both the payer and provider spaces, including hospital and clinical automation, EHR, revenue cycle, physician automation, payer processing, automation and integration. He successfully managed a cloud-based Platform as a Service (PaaS) product development initiative that earned more than $40 million for a Fortune 10 customer.

As a Regional CIO for Dignity Health, Jonathan managed IT operations and strategic direction for a $4.6 billion division of the 4th largest hospital system in the U.S. He led IT operations for 3 hospitals (more than 1100 beds), two medical schools, and managed IT support for the ACO, Ambulatory Medical Groups, Urgent Care Network, Surgical Centers, Imaging Centers, and mergers & acquisitions integration. He served as part of the executive team managing the conversion of the system’s flagship hospital to the Cerner Millennium Electronic Health Record (EHR) including the automation of physician orders (CPOE), automation of charge capture, and full automation of medication packaging, sorting, and distribution resulting in $17 million in cost take out.

As CIO and Vice President, Information Technology, at Blood Systems Inc., Jonathan managed applications, infrastructure, security, and vendor management for an $800 million national healthcare organization including FDA 510(k) cleared medical device software, manufacturing systems, Lab Information Systems, and medical supply chain. He managed all systems to 99.99% system availability annually. With his strategic direction, the company eliminated $4,200,000 in run rate expenses through virtualization (including VDI), automation (including testing), contract management, and consolidated contracts, while implementing new self-service SaaS and web-based tools and improving customer service to an all-time high.

Jonathan held IT executive positions as SVP, Global IT Operations at EFD/eFunds Corporation (now Fidelity); Vice President, CIO & CISO at Corporate Systems (now CS Stars); SVP, CTO & CISO at FundsXpress Financial Network (now First Data) where he managed multi-million IT budgets and managed teams of 200+. His primary objective throughout his leadership positions was to leverage technology to solve business challenges and drive corporate value and growth. He successfully led programs that transformed and enhanced delivery of all IT services, including application development and management, infrastructure, data center operations, telecommunications, and security on a global basis. He is a true expert in technology, and led initiatives and implementations of cloud-based platforms and automation technologies while spearheading change management processes to ensure smooth transitions.

Jonathan has a BS from the United States Naval Academy, and a MBA from West Texas A&M University. He was recognized by COMPUTERWORLD Magazine as a Premier 100 IT Leader for 2011.
