Pankaj brings over 18 years of experience in various management consulting and senior IT operational roles. Pankaj has worked with diverse clients in industries including manufacturing, retail, healthcare, customer service, IT services, telecommunication and financial services. His engagements have included IT strategy development, strategic planning, IT organizational assessment, global technology procurement, service offering re-adjustments to position for growth, cost reduction and Six Sigma improvements.

Prior to joining WGroup, Pankaj was a Principal at Everest Group where he advised a $60B IT hardware and services company on creating the next generation of service offerings. The offerings are expected to be ultra-high growth areas for the company and expected to double the services revenue to $6B in three years. Pankaj also advised major business services companies providing infrastructure, HR, IT and Business Process Outsourcing services on growth strategy. He helped create next generation of needs and trends for these providers. The strategy is expected to help several leading companies achieve next horizon of growth ranging from 30-40% per year.

Previously at Unisys, Pankaj led the global strategic planning process and business excellence initiatives for $1B Global Outsourcing business spanning public private sector businesses. Pankaj created global strategy and operating plan for Unisys for 2009 & 2010. He formulated blueprint for growth strategy in Global Outsourcing business, tracked progress on operating plan to meet operating margin, created new service offerings and presented regularly to CEO and Unisys Executive Committee. Pankaj also led overhead optimization initiative at Unisys to reduce overhead by 10% through consolidation of services, disposal of assets, offshoring of resources & making several HR functions accessible online.

Prior to Unisys, Pankaj was a key leader of the outsourcing and offshoring functional practice at McKinsey in the Midwest. He worked with telecom and high-tech sectors on outsourcing and offshoring strategy. He was also key leader in Business Technology and Healthcare practices. Here he created “Next-Gen” opportunities for a top IT services company and created 3 year roadmap to increase revenue by 50%. He evaluated key offerings offering growth potential including geographical gaps, new offerings e.g. cloud services, mobile applications and security. The client company increased its revenue from $4B in revenue to $6B as a result of this effort. He further reorganized a top IT services company by making sales force report directly to Business Unit heads and by changing accountability and compensation structure. He helped incubate new offerings into a new organizational structure and reduced overhead from the new organization to compete effectively. The effect of these changes can be seen as 30% year over year growth in revenue.

Earlier, Pankaj spent several years as a Six Sigma Champion and in other senior operational roles at General Electric (GE) where he grew the healthcare business both organically and through M&A. He created global outsourcing relationships with Wipro and TCS for software and hardware support for product lines such as CT scanners, MRI scanners, X ray machines and Ultrasound systems. He created global team structures based in Japan, China, France, India, Mexico and US with functions and product lines assigned to each geography.

Pankaj’s diverse business experience provides him with the ability to understand a customer’s critical IT requirements and how the effective IT strategy development and implementation can help meet those needs.

Pankaj earned an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Delhi (IIT) where he was Class Valedictorian, a Master’s Degree in Computer Science with summa cum laude from University of Minnesota where he was also Class Valedictorian and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with High Honors from University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
