PrincipalJohn Webber brings over 30 years of business and technology transformation expertise to WGroup. He has held senior positions with leading technology service providers and sourcing advisory firms, building an extensive track record of success in consulting, account management and service delivery management roles. John leads full lifecycle sourcing strategy and transaction programs for Global 500 corporations, including creating service delivery architectures, financial business case modeling, development and execution of RFPs (statements of work, financials, service levels, terms & conditions), risk assessment and mitigation planning, service provider evaluation, support for transition / transformation planning and execution, and ongoing vendor management.
Prior to joining WGroup, John was Global Sourcing Manager at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, responsible for leading end-to-end development of major, multi-national IT applications and infrastructure outsourcing contracts. He provided advisory services to client CIOs and their teams to create IT sourcing strategies, define business, financial and technical requirements, develop client/vendor process responsibility allocations and integration points, develop retained organization designs, and manage the complete RFP and vendor selection process. He also led contract negotiations, facilitating collaboration between clients and service providers to gain agreement on issues of solution design, scope and services responsibilities, pricing, service levels, and commercial terms. During that time, John also developed deep insight into financial structuring and management of outsourced services deals, including global corporate financial and budgeting practices and complex financial models supporting sourcing business case evaluation.
On the service provider side, John worked in Senior Engagement roles at Hewlett-Packard and Accenture. He was responsible for leading strategic sales pursuits for global applications and infrastructure outsourcing deals, working with client executives to refine objectives and shape value propositions of opportunities, and then aligning service provider solution, service delivery and commercials commitments to the client’s desired business outcomes. He spent the first 20 years of his career at EDS, in diverse roles including Applications and Infrastructure Delivery Management, Account Management, and Global Strategic Sales in the United States and Europe.
John earned a BA from The University of Virginia and completed the Executive Education Program with courses in Vested Outsourcing and Collaborative Contracting from The University of Tennessee – Knoxville School of Business.
