John W. (Bill) Fowler is committed to helping clients develop effective, sustainable sourcing solutions that align with their strategic and operational objectives. Over the course of his career, Bill has designed and led large, complex consulting engagements for Fortune 500 clients and has worked with some of the world's largest outsourcing agreements to ensure they are market competitive and supported by contractual language, pricing structures, and service quality. He focuses on customer satisfaction and works to build collaboration and sponsorship among diverse sets of stakeholders including executive leaders, customer groups, service providers and regulators.
Prior to joining WGroup, Bill led the North American Sourcing Advisory practice for a global consulting firm focused on IT performance improvement. In that role, Bill was afforded the unique opportunity to evaluate a broad range of large, global outsourced environments from both an operational as well as contractual perspective. He also designed governance structures to manage IT operations and architected solutions that balance risk and return.
In an earlier role, Bill established the Application Development benchmarking practice in the U.S. Bill began his career as a software developer and has held development and management positions in several professional services firms.
Bill holds an MBA from the Fuqua School Of Business, Duke University and a BS in Computer Science from Clemson University. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and holds an ITIL Foundations certificate in IT - Service Management. His teaching experience includes The University of Chicago and Northwestern Business College. He has provided both oral and written expert testimony in regulatory proceedings.
