Doug is a seasoned information technology executive with over 20 years of experience as an IT leader and strategist. He has held numerous operational, program-level, and strategic roles in a variety of industries including healthcare, manufacturing, and technology. His areas of expertise include IT Strategy, Enterprise Architecture, Technology Governance, Infrastructure Modernization, Technology Innovation, Application Rationalization, Cloud Strategy, Advanced Analytics, and Talent Development. Doug is passionate about the transformative nature of technology and focuses on improving the organization’s capacity to adapt to change.

Before joining WGroup, Doug built and led the Enterprise Architecture function for McKesson, a Fortune 15 pharmaceutical distribution, health information technology, and medical supply company. In his role as VP of Architecture and Solution Management, he led a team of the company’s top technologists to develop technology strategies and roadmaps for McKesson’s businesses worldwide. Previously, as VP of Data Center Transformation, Doug led a multi-year, multi-million dollar program to modernize and transform McKesson's information technology infrastructure and their support teams. Doug has also served as an interim CIO for several of McKesson’s smaller businesses. Prior to McKesson, Doug worked for Novant Health, a large healthcare provider, as Director of Corporate Applications, where he had responsibilities for enterprise applications and transformational initiatives. As a direct report to the CIO, Doug created the organization’s first program office, created a business/IT governance council, and led initiatives to standardize system-wide applications and practices.

Doug began his career at IBM Global Services as an IT consultant designing and building intranets, dashboards, and applications for healthcare, retail, and manufacturing customers. During his tenure at IBM, he led development of a health tracking application focused on improving retention and outcomes for a broad population. He also built an intranet for a large health system to streamline delivery of content to physicians and nurses, reducing cost to complete annual education requirements by 25%.

Doug holds an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and a BA in International Studies from the University of Alabama. Doug is a board member of the CTO forum and an attendee of Yale’s CEO College. He has spoken at numerous conferences on the topics of innovation, collaboration, and leading change in technology organizations.
