Don Davis offers over 30 years of information technology, business development, and operations experience in a wide range of industries that include ITO and BPO, publishing and printing, software development, cellular and satellite communications, distribution, AIA commercial construction, and audio/video.
Driven by significant and measurable results, Don provides strong communication and organizational skills, to engage personnel to collaborate on achieving objectives. A consistent and decisive problem solver, Don develops solid solutions to address business and financial goals.
Don has held senior IT Management positions at multiple publishing properties of Capital Cities/ABC, Inc., followed by a Vice President of Information Technology position at Resource Print Management, where Don quadrupled sales revenues within two years by implementing online sales and streamlining distribution operations.
At Affiliated Computer Services (ACS) Don rapidly progressed through several senior positions, establishing a new Global Service Delivery organization to manage and execute large data center migrations in collaboration with the PMO office. Under Don’s leadership, this group significantly improved the quality of service to ACS clients by bridging the gaps between Sales, Technology and the PMO. Global projects throughout North and South America, and Europe, were managed by this group.
Following ACS, Don was engaged as an independent consultant by The E. W. Scripps Company to assess the IT Department for one of their most successful publishing divisions. That led to a lead management role in the construction of a new $95 million, 186,000 sq. ft. multimedia production and office facility, where Don also designed and implemented a fully redundant technology infrastructure and data center. Through Don’s leadership that project completed on schedule with over $13 million in savings.
Prior to working with WGroup, Don continued consulting with Dell’s Business and Technology Consulting division, where he recently completed an IT in-sourcing project for a global biotechnology company. Early completion of migrating over 50 applications within multiple environments, had no impact upon business operations, and significantly contributed to Dell receiving Amgen’s CIO 2011 Supplier of the Year Award for service excellence.
Over 30 years, Don has cultivated strong vendor relationships resulting in competitive pricing, long term dedication and service commitment. Further, Don’s extensive background and experience in contract negotiation has yielded aggressive purchase and service agreements for hardware, software, telecommunications and services.
Don attended the University of Miami for Computer Science, and Business Management at TCU.
