Andy has 30 years of successful leadership experience in engineering, information technology, and operational support for data centers, networks, security and application environments. He has a passion for change, a capacity for dissecting and solving complex IT problems, and proven abilities in IT modernization projects. He has led large-scale strategy and transformation projects, including project / program design, implementation and day-to-day support / maintenance for global infrastructures with private and public clouds, virtualization, and data / voice networking connectivity. His experience spans multiple industries, including retail, banking, pharmaceuticals, and telecommunications.

He has an excellent reputation for bringing simple solutions to highly challenged environments. He designs projects for success and focus, while understanding the needs of all stakeholders in design and implementation.

Prior to WGroup, Andy was Principal Enterprise Architect at AstraZeneca / Medimmune / Imprivata. He was responsible for the strategy and planning for network and wireless functions, and managed over 40+ projects weekly. He led a team of 12 network (CCIE, CCNP), FW (CCIE), wireless, and LB load balance (Netscaler /F5). He spearheaded the deployment of Riverbed Steelhead WAN optimization / acceleration and Netbrain and Solar wind tools, and led multiple successful technology migrations.

As Enterprise Architect at BJ’s Wholesale Club, Andy provided architecture and oversight of building the next generation Cisco Nexus Data Center for the organization. The project included a complete end-to-end design and build out of an entirely new data center using advanced technologies. He redesigned all clubs, and rearchitected the LAN/WAN infrastructure. His innovative design enabled a private cloud infrastructure as a service to support a new ERP / SAP platform utilizing Cisco UCS blade server, Data Domain backup and EMC storage. The new data center was an incredible structure, was made available in an extraordinary 10 months, and the overall project costs remained under budget. Extensive planning by Andy resulted in a network that met current business needs and included technologies that would allow it to meet future business requirements.

As Principle Engineer and Network Management Team Lead for Boston Scientific, Andy provided network engineering support to the organization as a Principle Network Engineer. He planned, developed and designed the LAN / WAN environment as well as the web / E- commerce space. The network was comprised of 150 plus sales locations in 20 countries (Western Europe, Asia, etc.), 20 distribution (500 thousand to 1.5 million sq. feet) and manufacturing locations with 10 data centers. He also worked as an Application Performance Architect, and was responsible for the design and management of all tools, which supported application performance management, monitoring, and testing for all applications including SAP.
