Amanda Conkol

Principal

Amanda Conkol has 15 years of experience specializing in managing enterprise-wide software development installations, including budget management, vendor management and change management for mid-sized to large enterprise organizations in various industries. She has specific expertise in creating Project Management Offices that have transformed organizations’ delivery of project management services.

With Amanda’s leadership, creativity and commitment to success, she has successfully created PMOs ranging from 4-10 team members. She is a trusted change agent, and gains executive-level support for the processes she proposes through effectively conveying the impact of the benefits on the business, and establishes an Executive Project Prioritization Committee which ensure clear executive alignment. She has expertise in creating and implementing waterfall and agile project management procedures, including coaching teams in transition from waterfall to agile methodologies.

Prior to WGroup, Amanda was a Senior Project Management Consultant for Beacon Hill Staffing Group where she led the implementation of project management methodologies within data management teams. She worked with data governance to determine work stream prioritization and business value, managed the implementation of IBM Optim Test Data Management, and managed a team to implement a reference data management process and tool to consolidate and minimize data entry points.

Amanda has led multiple successful PMO initiatives throughout her career, and some of her other previous roles include Senior Project Manager at CDI Corporation, President of Projects Under Great (P.U.G.) Management, Inc., Senior Project Manager Consultant at Cleveland Clinic Foundation, and she also held various managerial positions at Forest City Enterprises, Inc. Throughout her career as a Project Management leader, she spearheaded the following projects:

  • Championed two key infrastructure projects to migrate 150 production telecommunications application servers to a newly built data center and migration from an SL-100 / CS1000 system to a CS2100 telephony system
  • Responsible for $20M budget to implement SAP for Forest City Enterprises including tracking internal resource availability for 200 resources across the country, over 50 consultants’ time and expense, multiple statements of work and hardware allocations
  • Managed SAGE ERP upgrade project for accounting and logistical operations which was initially 9 weeks behind schedule, and improved the project timeline by 5 weeks by implementing an agile structure to the project

Amanda's certifications include Agile Certified Practitioner as well as a Project Manager Professional, both from the Project Management Institute where she also serves as a member. She has a B.S. in Computer Science from Bowling Green State University.
